Answers

  1. What is Wishlist Buddy?

Wishlist Buddy is a site I created so people could save money when shopping for stuff from their Amazon.com Wish Lists.

I've noticed that a lot of the times with books, DVDs and video games, the prices usually start out high and work their way down to less than half price over time. I used to add items to my Amazon Wish List and wait for the prices to drop, but one day I realized "why not make a site to do it for me?" and that's how Wishlist Buddy came into existence.

    Here's how it works:

    1) Create an Amazon wish list

    2) Throw a bunch of stuff in there you want to get cheap

    3) Go over to Wishlist Buddy, make an account

    4) Tag all the stuff in your wish list with target prices

    5) Sit back and wait for the emails to start rolling in to let you know that the stuff you listed hit your target price.

I've given that a good deal of thought, and what it comes down to is that it's hard to make something like that 100% accurate, and I wouldn't want to be sending notifications for things that weren't specifically the item being requested wanted. Look at any of those price-search websites out there now. Search for a printer or a digital camera, and you'll get tons of links for accessories, print cartridges, etc.

The two things I really like about Amazon are :

    1) The incredible number of items in the store. Need books? CDs? DVDs? Games? Knives? Bed sheets? Baby strollers? They got you covered.

    2) 3rd party sales are awesome. You can buy new and/or used items from 3rd party vendors through Amazon.com and save a TON of money. What I normally do when a new game comes out that I want is I'll add it to my wish list, then tag it at like $25 over on Wishlist Buddy -- it's usually only a month or two before I can grab it at half off from a 3rd party vendor on Amazon.

Other than "deals" I find on SlickDeals or GotApex and computer hardware (Newegg) I do all my online shopping on Amazon. I love the wish list feature, and the pricing is usually great.

  3. I'm having problems finding my Amazon Wish List ID

If you're having problems connecting to your Amazon Wish List, confirm that it's set up as a public Wish List.

    1) Go to your Amazon.com Wish List

    2) In the Your Wish Lists section on the left side of the page, find and click the 'Manage your lists' button

    3) Click on 'Edit this information' link under the Wish List you're trying to modify

    4) Look under 'This list will be viewable by' and make sure that 'Anyone who searches for me.' is selected

    5) Click the 'Save changes' button at the bottom of the page

Once you've gone through all that, try searching for your Wishlist again.

  4. Are you available for freelance work or full-time employment?

Certainly! I'm always interested in freelance work, and if you run a game or web programming company near a major body of water in an area of the country that's nice most of the year, I'd love to talk to you. =)
